NEOBUS DEVELOPS FIRST URBAN BUS NEW MEGA 17 T ACCORDING TO SPTRANS STANDARD

The vehicle has been homologated and its first unit was supplied to Pêssego Transportes

NEOBUS developed and approved the first New MEGA urban bus of 17 tons of PBT in the SPTrans standard for the São Paulo transport system. The first unit was delivered to Pêssego Transportes in November and it is already in operation.

The new MEGA 17 tons has Volkswagen 17,230 OD chassis and the project counted with the partnership of the Adivel Caminhões e Ônibus dealership. The vehicle is 11,250mm long, it features lift, three doors and capacity for 33 seated passengers plus one passenger with disability. It has upholstered seats with high backrest, air-conditioning system; sealed windows, USB ports on all the seats, internal display for speed control and ticket gate without collector’s seat.

According to João Paulo Ledur, director of NEOBUS, the development of the new New MEGA 17 tons in the SPTrans standard demonstrates the focus of the manufacturer in the urban segment and in the expansion of its presence in the important market of São Paulo. “We have the partnership of the Volkswagen dealership Adivel Caminhões e Ônibus and we developed an application focused on the needs and characteristics required by SPTrans that are very specific for São Paulo´s market. The new model also serves several other municipalities and regions due to the variation of its total length,“ he explains.

“The new MEGA urban bus in the SPTrans standard features all the attributes of the Neobus brand, such as ergonomics and convenience, ease of maintenance and lower operating costs than other models available on the market”, said Douglas Cristiano Pessoa, national sales supervisor of NEOBUS.

Designed to provide the ultimate experience for passengers, drivers and business owners, the New MEGA can be assembled with various chassis models from leading automakers, featuring a clean, lightweight design. Focusing on the speed and cost of repair, the model has more practical and efficient rear-view mirrors, roof windows with new format, fixation system and sealing for easy access and handling. Its headlights have maximum luminous efficiency and are easily interchangeable.

Internally, the New MEGA also offers more space and ergonomics for the driver. The driver's seat has an ergonomic console, which provides more legroom, reducing physical wear and allowing the driver to increase focus.
